# Terrain elevation over a polygon

`POST /api/v1/elevation`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://offnadir-delta.com`
- URL: `https://offnadir-delta.com/api/v1/elevation`
- Auth: one of:
  - HTTP bearer
  - API key in header `X-API-Key`

Free. Terrain height statistics over a drawn polygon, computed from the DEM samples INSIDE the ring rather than its bounding box — an L-shaped or diagonal AOI would otherwise report ground the caller never selected. Same model and caveats as GET /api/v1/elevation.

## Request body

- object
  - `polygon` array[]: WGS84 ring [[lon, lat], …] with at least 3 vertices. A GeoJSON Polygon or Feature is also accepted.
    - number[]
  - `bbox` number[]: Alternative to polygon: [lon_min, lat_min, lon_max, lat_max].

## Response `200`

Elevation measurement over the polygon interior.
