# Create a work category

`POST /v1/work-categories`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.officina.it`
- URL: `https://api.officina.it/v1/work-categories`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Creates a work category. The name is stored exactly as sent
(trimmed). Names are unique per company ignoring case: when one
with the same name already exists the response is `200` with that
category instead of a duplicate; a new one is `201`.

## Response `200`

A category with the same name (ignoring case) already existed; it is returned unchanged.

## Other responses

- `201`: success
- `401`: Missing, malformed, expired, or wrong-audience bearer token.
- `402`: The company has no active subscription, or its plan does not include API access. API access is included in the Business and Illimitato plans.
- `403`: The authenticated user lacks the required permission.
- `422`: A request field is missing or invalid (fast-fail).
- `500`: Unhandled server error. Detail is logged, not exposed.
