# Update member status

`PUT /api/v2/organizations/{orgSlug}/members/{memberId}/status`

Update a member lifecycle status. Allowed values are "former", "contact", and "auto". Use "auto" to clear explicit status and let the system recalculate it. 

 Required scopes: `flex.community.members.update`

- `memberId` string, required
- `orgSlug` string, required

## Request body

- UpdateMemberStatusDto
  - `status` 'former' | 'contact' | 'auto', required: New member lifecycle status. Use "auto" to clear explicit status and let the system recalculate it.
