# Update the topic state

`PUT /topics/{id}/state/{state}`

## Request

- Base URL: `/v1` (relative, and the document’s source URL is not known)
- URL: `/v1/topics/{id}/state/{state}`
- Auth: API key in header `Authorization`

Updates a topic's state against the next nested object. If state is equal to 'published', than the next object copies over to current object

## Path parameters

- `id` string, required
- `state` string, required

## Response `200`

Success

## Other responses

- `400`: The request was invalid.
- `401`: Failed to process the request due to being unauthorised.
- `404`: The specified resource was not found.
- `500`: Failed to process the request due to an internal error.
