# Change respondent password using one-time token

`PUT /respondents/reset_password`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://localhost:8081`
- URL: `https://localhost:8081/respondents/reset_password`

Atomically validates and consumes the current password verification token before changing password

## Request body

- object
  - `email_address` string, email: The email address of the respondent
  - `new_password` string: The password to change to
  - `token` string: The expected one-time password verification token

## Response `200`

The password has been changed and the token consumed

## Other responses

- `400`: The request body was missing email_address, new_password, or token
- `404`: The respondent does not exist
- `409`: The verification token is invalid or has already been used
- `500`: There was an error in the auth service
