# Book from loan

`GET /v2/los-connect/encompass/book`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.ocrolus.com`

  - Token URL: `https://auth.ocrolus.com/oauth/token`

This API endpoint lets you retrieve the Ocrolus <<glossary:Book>> associated with a specific Encompass loan. You can query it using either the `Encompass loan_id` (GUID) or the `loan_number`, depending on which identifier you have available. 

> 📘 Note:
> The system accepts either `loan_id` or `loan_number` to identify the loan. If both parameters are provided, or if neither is included in the request payload, the API returns a 400 error.

Success

- object
  - `status` integer: A numerical code that indicates the status of the request.
  - `response` object: An object received from the server that potentially contains data.
    - `loan_number` string: The loan number associated with the request.
    - `loan_guid` string: GUID of the loan.
    - `client_instance_id` string: Identifier for the client instance.
    - `client_name` string: Name of the client.
    - `book_details` object: Details of the book associated with the loan.
      - `book_pk` integer: Primary key of the book.
      - `name` string: Name of the book.
      - `book_status` string: Status of the book.
      - `created_ts` string, date-time: Timestamp when the book was created.
      - `book_uuid` string: UUID of the book.
    - `message` string: A message describing the result of the request.

## Other responses

- `400`: Client Errors
- `403`: Forbidden
- `404`: NOT FOUND
- `500`: INTERNAL SERVER ERROR
