# Search the web

`POST /web/v1/search`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.oassis.dev`
- URL: `https://api.oassis.dev/web/v1/search`
- Auth: one of:
  - HTTP bearer
  - none

Search the web with Exa's index. A query instead of a url, for when you do not know where to look. HTTP supports the same Bearer API key and shared credits as MCP, or an independent x402 wallet payment.

## Request body

- object
  - `query` string, required: What to search for.
  - `limit` integer: Results to return. Up to 50.
  - `snippets` boolean: Text alongside each result. On by default: a bare url is rarely enough.
  - `domains` string[]: Only these domains, subdomains included: `example.com` also matches `docs.example.com`.
  - `excludeDomains` string[]: Never these domains, subdomains included.
  - `since` string: Only results published after this ISO date.

## Response `200`

The result.

## Other responses

- `400`: Invalid request; nothing is executed.
- `401`: Invalid or revoked API key.
- `402`: Insufficient account credits, or x402 payment required. The wallet challenge travels in PAYMENT-REQUIRED; a 402 is not a payment or an execution.
- `503`: Operation temporarily unavailable.
