# Delete a message

`DELETE /v3/grants/{grant_id}/messages/{message_id}`

Deletes the specified message. If `hard_delete` is not defined or is `false`, Nylas moves the
message to the user's Trash folder.

## Query parameters

- `hard_delete` boolean
- `shared_from` string

## Response `200`

Delete Succeeded

- `400` — Bad Request
- `401` — Unauthorized
- `404` — Not Found
- `429` — Rate Limit
