# Create prompt

`POST /api/v1/prompts`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://numonic.ai`
- URL: `https://numonic.ai/api/v1/prompts`
- Auth: API key in header `x-api-key`

Create a new prompt in the library. The prompt is assigned a content-addressed SHA-1 hash as its identifier. Optionally include model configuration, template variables, tags, and category.

## Request body

- object
  - `prompt_text` string, required: The prompt text content
  - `name` string: Human-readable display name
  - `description` string
  - `target_model` string: Target AI model (e.g., midjourney, stable-diffusion)
  - `category` string
  - `tags` string[]
  - `model_config` object: Model-specific parameters (e.g., --ar, --stylize for Midjourney)
  - `variables_schema` object: Template variable definitions for parameterised prompts

## Response `201`

Prompt created successfully

## Other responses

- `400`: Validation error
- `401`: Unauthorized
