# Read the calling key's usage

`GET /v1/usage`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.numeratica.com`
- URL: `https://api.numeratica.com/v1/usage`
- Auth: one of:
  - HTTP bearer
  - API key in header `X-API-Key`

Returns the total number of metered API calls made by the authenticated key plus its most recent usage events. One usage event is recorded per authenticated call.

## Response `200`

Usage summary

- UsageResponse
  - `key_id` string
  - `count` integer: Total metered calls by this key.
  - `recent` object[]: The key's most recent usage events (newest last).
    - `key_id` string
    - `method` string
    - `path` string
    - `status` integer
    - `timestamp` string, date-time

## Other responses

- `401`: Missing or invalid API key
- `503`: Usage records are temporarily unavailable (code `usage_unavailable`). This is NOT a report of zero usage — the store could not be reached. Retry shortly; do not treat it as a billing figure.
