# Create an alias

`POST /workflows/definitions/{id}/aliases`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.nullplatform.com`

- Auth: HTTP bearer

Creates an alias pointing at an existing revision. `latest` is reserved. Creating an alias does not activate its triggers; call the activate endpoint for that.

The alias was created.

  - `active` boolean, required: Whether the alias's triggers are activated.

  - `metadata` object
  - `triggerStates` object: Map of trigger id to its activation state.

## Other responses

- `4XX`: Client error. The body says what went wrong: an error `type`, a human-readable `detail`, and, on validation failures, one entry per offending field.
- `5XX`: Unexpected server error.
