# Get Benchmark Status

`GET /api/v3/benchmarks/{benchmark_id}/status`

## Request

Get the status of a benchmark generation run.


This endpoint retrieves the current status of a benchmark generation run. Use this to track the progress of benchmark generation initiated by the create endpoint.


**Path Parameters:**

- `benchmark_id`: Unique identifier returned from the create endpoint


**Returns:**

- `benchmark_id`: unique identifier
- `status`: status (`QUEUED` until a worker starts, `PROCESSING` while running, `READY` when finished)
- `created_at`, `completed_at`, `updated_at`: timestamps
- `progress`, `eta_seconds`: not wired up yet, always null


**Raises:**

- `404`: If the benchmark or its documents are not found

**Notes:**

- Status is `QUEUED` until a worker starts and `PROCESSING` while the generation process is running
- Status changes to `READY` once all samples are generated

## Response `200`

Get the status of a benchmark generation run, including current progress and timestamps for creation and completion

- BenchmarkStatusResponse: Status and details of one benchmark.
  - `benchmark_id` string, required: Benchmark id
  - `status` 'QUEUED' | 'PROCESSING' | 'READY' | 'FAILED' | 'STOPPED', required: Lifecycle status of a resource that runs asynchronously. Stored as is and returned as is, with no translation in between. - `QUEUED`: accepted and waiting for its workflow to start - `PROCESSING`: running - `READY`: finished successfully - `FAILED`: failed at any stage - `STOPPED`: stopped by the user before completion
  - `created_at` string, date-time, nullable: Timestamp when the benchmark was created
  - `completed_at` string, date-time, nullable: Timestamp when generation completed; null while still running
  - `updated_at` string, date-time, nullable: Timestamp of the last status change
  - `progress` number, nullable: Completion progress, 0.0 to 100.0. Not wired up yet, always null.
  - `eta_seconds` integer, nullable: Estimated time remaining in seconds. Not wired up yet, always null.

## Other responses

- `401`: Invalid API key
- `403`: Authorization header missing or not a Bearer token
- `404`: Resource not found
- `422`: Validation Error
