# Delete Benchmark

`DELETE /api/v3/benchmarks/{benchmark_id}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.nugen.in`
- URL: `https://api.nugen.in/api/v3/benchmarks/{benchmark_id}`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Delete a benchmark permanently.


This endpoint permanently removes a benchmark and all its associated data. Only the owner of the benchmark can delete it.


**Path Parameters:**

- `benchmark_id`: Unique identifier of the benchmark to delete


**Returns:**

Success response containing:

- `benchmark_id`: The deleted benchmark identifier
- `message`: Confirmation message


**Raises:**

- `404`: If benchmark not found or doesn't belong to the user

**Warning:**

This action is permanent and cannot be undone. All benchmark samples will be permanently deleted.

Benchmark successfully deleted

- BenchmarkDeleteResponse: Confirmation of a permanent benchmark deletion.
  - `benchmark_id` string, required: Identifier of the deleted benchmark.
  - `message` string, required: Deletion confirmation message.

## Other responses

- `401`: Invalid API key
- `403`: Authorization header missing or not a Bearer token
- `404`: Benchmark not found or doesn't belong to user
- `422`: Validation Error
