# Start DNS auto-configuration

`POST /v1/domains/{domain}/auto-configure/start`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.novu.co`
- URL: `https://api.novu.co/v1/domains/{domain}/auto-configure/start`
- Auth: API key in header `Authorization`

Generates a signed redirect URL the customer can follow to apply Novu DNS records at their DNS provider. After the provider completes the flow, it redirects back to `redirectUri`.

  - `redirectUri` string: Dashboard URL to return to after the DNS provider consent flow completes.

- `400`: Bad Request
- `401`: Unauthorized
- `403`: Forbidden
- `404`: Not Found

- `413`: Payload Too Large
- `414`: URI Too Long
- `415`: Unsupported Media Type
- `422`: Unprocessable Entity
- `429`: The client has sent too many requests in a given amount of time.
- `500`: Internal Server Error
- `503`: The server is currently unable to handle the request due to a temporary overload or scheduled maintenance, which will likely be alleviated after some delay.
