# Publish the next dataset version with optional version number

`POST /api/v1/datasets/{datasetSlug}/versions/publish`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://dev.noveum.ai`
- URL: `https://dev.noveum.ai/api/v1/datasets/{datasetSlug}/versions/publish`
- Auth: API key in cookie `apiKeyCookie` and HTTP bearer

Publishes all items in the next_release version to current_release. If version is not provided in the request body, automatically increments the current release by 0.0.1 (patch increment). If version is provided, it must be greater than the current release and follow X.Y.Z format. Items added after this will go into the new next_release version.

- `201`: Created
- `400`: No items to publish or invalid version
- `401`: Unauthorized

- `500`: Internal server error
