# Delete environment variable

`DELETE /v1/environment-variables/{variableKey}`

## Request

Deletes an environment variable by key.

## Path parameters

- `variableKey` string, required

## Response `204`

The environment variable has been deleted.

- `400`: Bad Request
- `401`: Unauthorized
- `403`: Forbidden
- `404`: Environment variable not found.
- `405`: Method Not Allowed
- `409`: Conflict
- `413`: Payload Too Large
- `414`: URI Too Long
- `415`: Unsupported Media Type
- `422`: Unprocessable Entity
- `429`: The client has sent too many requests in a given amount of time.
- `500`: Internal Server Error
- `503`: The server is currently unable to handle the request due to a temporary overload or scheduled maintenance, which will likely be alleviated after some delay.
