# Get a DNS Name

`GET /v1/dns/records/{zone_name}/{name}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.noip.com`
- URL: `https://api.noip.com/v1/dns/records/{zone_name}/{name}`
- Auth: one of:
  - HTTP bearer
  - HTTP basic

Get detailed information about a DNS name.

## Path parameters

- `zone_name` string, required: The name of the zone.
- `name` string, required: The DNS name, not including the zone portion.

## Query parameters

DNS name, not fully-qualified

- object: DNS name, not fully-qualified
  - `data` DnsName, required: DNS name, not fully-qualified
    - `metadata` Metadata: A collection of string key/value pairs that provide additional information or classification for an object.
    - `name` string, required: The DNS name, not including the zone portion.
    - `update_group` string: Name of the update group
    - `is_published` boolean, required: Is the name published?
    - `is_offline` boolean, required: Is the name offline?
    - `is_write_prohibited` boolean, required: Name is write prohibited
    - `created_at` string, date-time, required: Created at
    - `name_labels_reversed` string, required: Name with the labels in reverse order
    - `offline_settings` OfflineSettings
      - `action` 'no_action' | 'ip' | 'web_redirect' | 'page', required
      - `ip` string, nullable: Ip address used when action is `ip`
      - `web_redirect` string, nullable: Url to redirect used when action is `url`
      - `page_title` string, nullable: Page title when action is `page`
      - `page_text` string, nullable: Page text when action is `page`
      - `page_email` string, nullable: Page contact email when action is `page`
      - `page_logo_url` string, nullable: Page logo when action is `page`
  - `warnings` Warning[]
    - `code` string, required: A code for this warning.
    - `title` string, required: A title for this warning.
    - `detail` string, nullable: Contextual information about this warning.

## Other responses

- `401`: unauthorized (code: 2465)
- `403`: operation only available via the website (code: 4786)
- `404`: Multiple error variants are possible: - DNS name not found (code: 4809) - zone not found (code: 2510) - zone not shared (code: 2728)
