# Remove a saved SSH public key

`DELETE /v1/ssh-keys/{fingerprint}`

## Request

- Base URL: `/` (relative, and the document was published on a file host, not at the API’s origin)
- URL: `/v1/ssh-keys/{fingerprint}`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Requires a console session or an API key created by a team member. Running machines stop admitting the key within seconds. Returns 404 when the caller's account has no such key.

- `fingerprint` string, required

- `default`: 400 invalid_ssh_key, 403 attribution_required for an API key without a creating team member, 409 ssh_key_limit. Authentication, rate limits and transient failures also apply.
