# Read the shared account saved-file allowance and charges

`GET /v1/research-workspaces/storage`

## Request

- Base URL: `/` (relative, and the document was published on a file host, not at the API’s origin)
- URL: `/v1/research-workspaces/storage`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Requires account authentication. Reports combined saved-file usage and the account storage policy, independent of compute-session charges.

## Response `200`

Account saved-file usage and billing

- ResearchWorkspaceAccountStorage: Account-wide saved-file usage and posted charges. The current measured-cost policy reports its pricing basis and posted charges. Earlier fixed-rate policies report their applicable monthly rate separately. Use server-reported charges instead of deriving a bill from the current byte count. File export and deletion remain available with stopped compute.
  - `policy_version` string, required: Version of the account's saved-file storage policy.
  - `included_bytes` integer, required: Current shared free allowance across eligible saved files. An active storage promotion may provide an allowance.
  - `retained_bytes` integer, required: Verified saved-file payload covered by the current policy. Earlier research storage is reported separately in legacy_retained_bytes.
  - `legacy_retained_bytes` integer: Saved research payload retaining earlier pricing, excluded from the current policy allowance.
  - `legacy_charged_usd` number: Lifetime posted research storage charges under the earlier policy.
  - `billable_bytes` integer, required: Saved payload above the account allowance.
  - `rate_usd_gb_month` number, required: Server-reported fixed USD rate per decimal GB-month when applicable. For measured-cost pricing, use pricing_basis and posted charges. A zero rate does not indicate free storage.
  - `pricing_basis` string: Billing basis for storage charges when the policy does not use a fixed monthly rate.
  - `charged_usd` number, required: Lifetime posted storage charges under the current policy, separate from compute and legacy_charged_usd.
  - `status` 'inactive' | 'included' | 'funded' | 'funding_required', required
  - `as_of` string, date-time, required
