# Delete an external connection

`DELETE /v1/connections/{id}`

## Request

- Base URL: `/` (relative, and the document was published on a file host, not at the API’s origin)
- URL: `/v1/connections/{id}`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Removes the connection from listing and future use. Returns 409 while a workload, export, load or metadata refresh is active. Completed workload and transfer history is retained. Stored credentials and external data are unchanged.

## Other responses

- `default`: Connection operation rejected. Errors never include credential values.
