# Delete an unused asset

`DELETE /v1/assets/{id}`

## Request

- Base URL: `/` (relative, and the document was published on a file host, not at the API’s origin)
- URL: `/v1/assets/{id}`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

## Path parameters

- `id` string, required

## Response `204`

Asset deleted

## Other responses

- `404`: Asset not found
- `409`: Asset is importing or used by an active workload
- `500`: Asset deletion could not be finalized
- `502`: Stored input could not be deleted
- `default`: Error. The JSON error and message fields are stable. Additional fields may provide details. Authentication, rate limits, and transient failures apply to all operations.
