# Test Ai Key

`POST /api/ai/test-key`

Fire the smallest possible chat at the caller's provider to prove the
key/model/base combination works. Always resolves ``{ok, message}`` — a
bad key is ``ok: false``, never a throw (only malformed headers are 400).
The key rides the X-AI-* headers like every other AI call; it is neither
stored nor logged.
