# Submit feedback

`POST /api/v3/meta/feedback`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://app.nocodb.com`
- URL: `https://app.nocodb.com/api/v3/meta/feedback`
- Auth: API key in header `xc-token`

Report a NocoDB bug, missing capability, confusing behavior or docs gap. Meant for agents after a failed call (pass the failed response's `requestId` as `evidence.requestId`) or when the user asks to send feedback.

It changes no data and fixes nothing. Delivery is best effort: the response is always `received` once the payload is valid, even if the report is later dropped. Do not retry.

Calls to this endpoint do not count toward plan API limits.

## Request body

- FeedbackSubmit
  - `source` object, required
    - `origin` 'user_request' | 'agent_observed', required: `user_request`: the user asked to send it. `agent_observed`: the agent noticed it (requires `evidence`).
    - `agent` object: Informational only.
      - `name` string
      - `model` string
  - `type` 'bug' | 'silent_bug' | 'missing_capability' | 'confusing_behavior' | 'docs_gap', required: `bug`: the call failed or errored wrongly. `silent_bug`: the call reported success but did the wrong thing.
  - `summary` string, required: One line.
  - `intent` string, required: What the caller was trying to accomplish.
  - `details` string: What happened vs what was expected.
  - `suggestion` string: Proposed fix or API shape.
  - `evidence` object: The failed call. Required when `source.origin` is `agent_observed`.
    - `toolName` string: MCP tool name.
    - `method` string: REST method.
    - `path` string: REST path.
    - `requestId` string: `requestId` from the failed call's error response.
    - `errorMessage` string
  - `userQuote` string: The user's own words (`user_request` only).
  - `area` string: The section the issue falls under: `account`, `records`, `schema`, `views`, `automation`, `interfaces`, `access`, `platform` or `other`. An unrecognised value is stored as `other`.
  - `feature` string: The MCP tool family, e.g. `fields`, `filters`, `links`; `other` if none fits. An unrecognised value is stored as `other`.
  - `workspaceId` string: The workspace the issue happened in. Kept only if you can access it.
  - `baseId` string: The base the issue happened in. Kept only if you can access it.

## Response `202`

Feedback received. Nothing was fixed.

  - `feedbackId` string, required: Receipt id for the report.
  - `status` 'received', required
  - `duplicateOf` string: Earlier report this one matched, when known.

## Other responses

- `400`: The request body or a query parameter failed validation.
- `401`: No credential was supplied, it was not valid, or this operation does not accept the kind of credential that was sent.
- `429`: Feedback rate limit reached. Tell the user the report was not sent.
