# Card Type Lookup

`POST /v4/card_type`

<summary>Usage</summary>
This endpoint will return whether the card is a `debit`, `credit`, or `charge` card. A card may return `unknown` if we can't recognize the card type provided. Or it may return `unavailable` if the service is offline.

  - `result` 'debit' | 'credit' | 'prepaid' | 'charge' | 'deferred_debit': The card type associated with the credit card IIN sent in the request. Will return `unknown` if type can't be determined or `unavailable` if the service is offline.
