`POST /people/{personIdType}:{personId}/codes`

## Request

This endpoint is the same as [POST /people/{vanId}/codes](ref:people#peoplevanidcodes) but uses external IDs rather than VANIDs.

- `personId` string, required

  - `codeId` string: Required; Unique identifier for an existing [Code](ref:codes) that is applicable to a Person.
