# Self-verification of an L4-N citation against the in-force legislation corpus

`POST /api/v1/normativa/verify-cita`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://legal.nexusquantum.legal`
- URL: `https://legal.nexusquantum.legal/api/v1/normativa/verify-cita`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Parses the citation ('Companies Act 1967, Section 157A', 'Art. 1902 CC'), looks up the canonical text in force on the date and optionally compares it against claim_text (Jaccard). Cost: 0 LLM. Returns one of: verified | mismatch | not_found | derogated | pending | not_verifiable (jurisdiction with no verification corpus wired up).

## Request body

- object
  - `citation` string, required: Citation to verify (Spanish-language alias accepted: `cita`; `citation` takes precedence).
  - `cita` string: Spanish-language alias for `citation`.
  - `claim_text` string: Text attributed by the LLM. If present, Jaccard similarity is computed.
  - `jurisdiction` string: ISO code (Spanish-language alias accepted: `jurisdiccion`; `jurisdiction` takes precedence). No default: if omitted, the jurisdiction is resolved EXPLICITLY from the shape of the citation (400 if ambiguous/unrecognized).
  - `jurisdiccion` string: Spanish-language alias for `jurisdiction`.
  - `date` string, date: Date the citation is asked about. Default today.
  - `fecha` string, date: Date the citation is asked about. Default today. It is echoed back as `consultado_a_fecha`; it only becomes `vigente_a_fecha` when that jurisdiction's lookup is actually bounded by the date (Spain today). See the 200 response.

## Response `200`

Verification result. `consultado_a_fecha` is the date you asked about and is always present. `vigente_a_fecha` carries a date ONLY when the lookup for that jurisdiction was bounded by it and returned a live version — otherwise it is `null`, which means the in-force status was NOT checked (the provision may still exist and the text still be the official one). Changed 2026-08-06: it used to echo the requested date unconditionally, including on `not_verifiable` responses, so it promised a check that several jurisdictions never ran. `vigencia_status` (`in_force` | `repealed` | …) and `status_evidence` (`corpus_flag` | `source_removed_text` | `none`) are optional and say what was established and on what evidence — a repeal proven by the source removing the text is not the same as one nobody could confirm.

## Other responses

- `400`: MISSING_CITATION | INVALID_FECHA | INVALID_JSON
- `402`: INSUFFICIENT_CREDITS — paywall from minute one (balance > 0 required; verification does not consume credits).
- `403`: CONTENT_NOT_ENTITLED — the account does not have the legislation add-on (Layer 3) for the requested jurisdiction.
