# One Box: auto-detect and resolve ANY physical-media identifier

`GET /api/resolve/{identifier}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://newmexicoliteracyproject.org`
- URL: `https://newmexicoliteracyproject.org/api/resolve/{identifier}`
- Auth: none declared

Detects the identifier type (LCCN, ISBN-10/13, DIDX, CD catalog number, UPC/EAN barcode, vinyl matrix/runout) and returns ranked typed candidates across NMLP's hosted indexes: 20.9M Library of Congress LCCN records, 8.7M CD identifiers, 19M vinyl identifiers. ISBN input returns a direct Amazon listing link (ASIN=ISBN-10), never a title search. Dashes, spaces, case ignored. Misses return structured Attested Absence (what was checked, at what dataset version, nearest neighbors) instead of a bare 404. Identification only — never valuations.

## Path parameters

- `identifier` string, required

## Response `200`

{query, normalized, dataset_version, checked[], found:true, candidates:[{type: lccn|cd|vinyl|isbn, confidence: high|medium|low, ...record, canonical_url}], source, coverage_url}

## Other responses

- `400`: Identifier too short/invalid.
- `404`: Attested Absence: {found:false, absence:{absent_from:[{index,records,version}], semantics, nearest_neighbors?}}. Absence is evidence, not proof.
