# Post event

`POST /v1/events`

Post event to the server's event processing pipeline, equivalent to sending an event from the
management console. Event is identified either by eventCode or by eventName. If objectId is not
provided, the node with the client's IP address is used as the event source (or the server's own
node for loopback connections). User must have SEND_EVENTS access right on the source object.

## Request body

- EventPostInput — Event post request body. Either eventCode or eventName must be provided.
  - `eventCode` integer — Event code
  - `eventName` string — Event name (used when eventCode is not provided)
  - `objectId` integer — Source object ID. If omitted, source is determined from the client's IP address.
  - `originTimestamp` union — Origin timestamp as UNIX time, ISO 8601 string, relative offset ([+|-]<number>[s|m|h|d]) or "now". Server time is used if omitted.

  - `tags` string[] — Additional event tags
  - `parameters` object[] — Event parameters, available in message template as %1..%n and by name
    - `name` string — Parameter name (defaults to parameterN, where N is 1-based position)
    - `value` union, required — Parameter value

## Response `201`

Event posted successfully

  - `eventId` integer — ID assigned to the posted event

## Other responses

- `400` — Invalid request (unknown event, invalid parameters or timestamp, or source object cannot be determined from client address)
- `401` — Unauthorized
- `403` — User does not have SEND_EVENTS access right on the source object
- `404` — Source object not found
