# Delete Automation

`DELETE /api/v1/automations/{automation_id}`

Hard-delete a workflow. ADMIN on the automation (owners bypass), like managing access.

409 ``{"detail", "usages": [{"type", "id", "name"}]}`` when Apps or
Actions reference it, or when it has published versions (``usages`` may
then be empty). 409 ``{"detail"}`` while a run is in progress. Otherwise
deletes its graph, run history, favourites and grants, then removes its
Temporal schedule and retires its builder chat.
