# Create Attributes

`POST /client/attribute/create`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://netcoreapi-main-prod-us.netcorein.com/v5`

- Auth: API key in header `api-key`

Use the Create Attributes API to add custom attributes to Netcore CE.

## Request body

- object
  - `data` object[], required: A list of custom attributes you want to add, like age or gender. For each field, define its name, type (number, text, etc.), and other optional settings.
    - `attribute_name` string, required: Name of the attribute. The specification describes the allowed pattern as **(A-Za-z0-9_)**.
    - `attribute_category` string, required: Category of the attribute. Supported values specified are **custom**, **predicted**, and **calculated**.
    - `data_type` string, required: This is the data type of the attribute. The schema specifies **textline**, **date**, **int**, **decimal**, and **longtext**.
    - `map_to` string, required: System attribute name to which the custom attribute can be mapped. Use an empty string when no mapping is required.
    - `data_mask` string, required: It controls data masking. The specification describes the values as true, false, or an empty string.
    - `default_value` string, required: It is the default value for the attribute.
