# Exchange a link code for a node identity

`POST /api/link/claim`

## Request

Release the node identity a link code names, at most once per code.

## Request body

- LinkClaimRequest: The daemon presents the plaintext code exactly once.
  - `code` string, required
  - `credential_reference` string, required

## Response `200`

Successful Response

- LinkClaimResponse: Non-secret node identity; capability material is never issued here.
  - `node_id` string, uuid, required
  - `node_slug` string, required
  - `nodes_base_domain` string, required

## Other responses

- `404`: Not Found
- `409`: Conflict
- `410`: Gone
- `422`: Validation Error
- `429`: Too Many Requests
