# /v2 /events/{eventId}/latest.geojson

`POST /events/{eventId}/latest.geojson`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.nearmap.com/ai/damage/v2`
- URL: `https://api.nearmap.com/ai/damage/v2/events/{eventId}/latest.geojson`
- Auth: one of:
  - API key in query parameter `apikey`
  - API key in header `Authorization`

Retrieves the latest damage assessment for a specific event, filtered by area of interest or address.
The event ID is the postCatEventId tag on the surveys returned by the Coverage API.
Send either 'aoi' or 'address', not both.
Results are paged. If more results are available, the response includes nextCursor. Send the same
request again with that value as 'cursor', and stop when no nextCursor is returned.

## Path parameters

            - number[]
      - GeoJSONMultiPolygon
        - `type` 'MultiPolygon', required
        - `coordinates` array[], required
          - array[]
            - array[]

    - `address` Address: Physical address for parcel-based damage assessment.
      - `streetAddress` string, required: Street address including number and street name.
      - `city` string, required: City name.
      - `state` string, required: State or province code.
      - `zip` string, required: ZIP or postal code.
      - `country` string, required: Country code (e.g., US, AU).
    - `cursor` string: Pagination cursor. Omit it on the first request. For later pages, send the nextCursor value from the previous response, with the same request (the same aoi or address) that produced it.
    - `limit` integer: Maximum number of features per page (default 1000, minimum 1). No maximum is enforced.

## Response `200`

Successful response with a GeoJSON FeatureCollection. If the area has no buildings in the event, features is empty.

- DamageResponse: GeoJSON FeatureCollection containing damage assessment data.
  - `type` 'FeatureCollection', required: GeoJSON type identifier.
  - `resourceId` string, uuid, required: Unique identifier for the resource.
  - `eventId` string, uuid, required: Unique identifier for the event. This is the postCatEventId value from the Coverage API, and the eventId path parameter.
  - `eventUuid` string, uuid, required: Deprecated. Use eventId. This field has the same value as eventId.
  - `eventName` string, required: Human-readable event name.
  - `geomatchedAddress` string: Matched address from geocoding (only present for address-based queries).
  - `modelVersion` string, required: Version of the damage assessment model.
  - `presentationVersion` string, required: Version of the presentation layer.
  - `features` DamageFeature[], required: Array of GeoJSON features with damage properties.
    - `id` string, uuid, required: Unique feature identifier.
    - `type` 'Feature', required
    - `geometry` union, required: Building outline.
      - GeoJSONPolygon
        - `type` 'Polygon', required
        - `coordinates` array[], required: Array of linear rings (first is exterior, rest are holes).
          - array[]
            - number[]
      - GeoJSONMultiPolygon
        - `type` 'MultiPolygon', required
        - `coordinates` array[], required
          - array[]
            - array[]
              - …
    - `properties` object, required
      - `damage` object, required: Damage assessment. 'event' is the post-event assessment. 'preEvent' is returned only where Nearmap has a pre-event observation of the building.
        - `event` DamageProperties, required: Damage assessment properties for an event or pre-event state. The rating is the damage class with the highest probability in rawRatings. The five probabilities in rawRatings add up to 1, and confidence is the probability of the chosen class.
          - `rating` 'NoDamage' | 'Affected' | 'Minor' | 'Major' | 'Destroyed', required: Damage severity classification.
          - `confidence` number, double, required: Confidence in the rating (0-1). Equals the probability of the chosen class.
          - `rawRatings` object, required: Probability for each damage class. The five probabilities add up to 1.
          - `classRatios` EvidenceClassRatio[], required: Evidence class ratios contributing to damage assessment.
            - `classId` string, uuid, required: Feature class identifier for the evidence type.
            - `description` string, required: Human-readable description of the evidence class.
            - `ratio` number, double, required: Ratio of this evidence class (0-1).
            - `confidence` number, double, required: Confidence in this evidence detection (0-1).
          - `latestCaptureDate` string, date: Latest imagery capture date (YYYY-MM-DD). Only supplied for preEvent properties.
        - `preEvent` DamageProperties: Damage assessment properties for an event or pre-event state.

          - `rawRatings` object, required: Probability for each damage class. The five probabilities add up to 1.
          - `classRatios` EvidenceClassRatio[], required: Evidence class ratios contributing to damage assessment.
            - `classId` string, uuid, required: Feature class identifier for the evidence type.
            - `description` string, required: Human-readable description of the evidence class.
            - `ratio` number, double, required: Ratio of this evidence class (0-1).
            - `confidence` number, double, required: Confidence in this evidence detection (0-1).
          - `latestCaptureDate` string, date: Latest imagery capture date (YYYY-MM-DD). Only supplied for preEvent properties.
      - `hilbertId` string, required: Identifier of the building within this dataset. Buildings with close hilbertId values are close together on the ground, so sorting by it helps spatial analysis. It can change when conflation re-runs, so use the building outline, not hilbertId, to match buildings between results.
      - `confidence` number, double, required: Building outline confidence level.
      - `areaSqm` number, required: Building area in square meters.
      - `areaSqft` number, required: Building area in square feet, rounded to the nearest integer.
  - `nextCursor` string: Cursor for fetching the next page of results. Absent on the last page.

## Other responses

- `400`: Bad request - validation error. The code is one of BAD_AOI_ADDRESS, BAD_AOI, BAD_ADDRESS or BAD_REQUEST_BODY.
- `401`: Unauthorized - the API key is missing or not valid. The body is plain text.
- `403`: Forbidden. Either the key has no entitlement to this API, or the area has no coverage for you. Both cases return the same body.
- `404`: Not found. The event ID is unknown, no parcel was found for the address, or no result exists yet for the event.
- `429`: Too many requests. Slow down and retry.
- `500`: Internal server error. The body is plain text.
- `503`: Service unavailable. If the geocoder rate limit is exceeded, the body is JSON. If a load balancer or the orchestrator returns this status, the body is plain text.
