# Start Signup

`POST /v1/signup/start`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.sandbox.usenash.com`
- URL: `https://api.sandbox.usenash.com/v1/signup/start`
- Auth: none declared

Make sure the address has a Nash user and a passwordless Auth0 user, then ask Auth0 for the code from the browser on the returned `connection`. Anonymous and rate-limited per network, address and business domain. A new address and a known one get the same answer. `SIGNUP_EMAIL_INVALID` and `SIGNUP_EMAIL_DISPOSABLE` (400) refuse the address before any budget is spent; `SIGNUP_RATE_LIMITED` (429) and `SIGNUP_UNAVAILABLE` (503) mean try again later.

## Request body

- SignupStartRequest
  - `email` string, required: The address the person signs up or signs in with.

## Response `200`

OK

- SignupStartResponse: The same answer for a new address and a known one, so start reveals nothing about who has an account.
  - `next` 'request_code'
  - `connection` string, required: The Auth0 connection to request the code on.

## Other responses

- `422`: Unprocessable Content
