# Delete an asset

`DELETE /v1/assets/{id}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://nanostudiopro.com/api`
- URL: `https://nanostudiopro.com/api/v1/assets/{id}`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Refused with 409 `media_in_use` while the asset is used somewhere: a registered use (see `/v1/media/{type}/{id}/uses`), a live share page or a public gallery listing. The error message names the places; show them to the person, and on their OK repeat with `force=true`.

- `401`: Missing or invalid token
- `404`: Asset not found
- `409`: The asset is in use; the message lists where
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded
