# delete_extraction_schema

`DELETE /v1/extraction-schemas/{schema_id}`

Delete a schema family you created, with every version. Cost class: fast.

The family stops listing and resolving at once: ``GET`` answers 404, and an
Extract naming it fails ``schema_not_found``. Jobs accepted before the delete
keep the copy of the schema they took at accept time and finish normally;
their results still name the ``schema_id`` and ``schema_version`` they used.
Deleting a family that is already deleted succeeds again. Platform schemas,
and another tenant's or another external account's, answer 404.

## Path parameters

- `schema_id` string, required: Stable schema family id (``sch_...``).

- `504`: Gateway Timeout
- `default`: Typed error envelope used by every 4xx and 5xx. ``error.code`` distinguishes the failure; HTTP status is a consequence of the code.
