# Add an event option to a variant.

`POST /v1/trips/{id}/variants/{variantId}/options/event`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.mynextadventure.cloud` (the document declares no server; this is the origin it was published from)

- Auth: API key in header `X-API-Key`

## Path parameters

- `id` string, required
- `variantId` string, required

## Request body

- CreateEventV1Dto
  - `name` string, required: Display name of the event exactly as a human would call it (e.g. "Louvre Museum"). Never embed price, dates, status or commentary here — those belong in totalCost, start/end and notes.
  - `start` string, date-time: Start datetime in ISO 8601.
  - `end` string, date-time: End datetime in ISO 8601.
  - `totalCost` number: Total cost of the event/ticket.
  - `currency` string: Currency code (e.g. "GBP").
  - `link` string: URL for booking or more information.
  - `location` CreateEventLocationV1Dto
    - `googlePlaceId` string
    - `locationiqPlaceId` string
    - `name` string
    - `formattedAddress` string: Full postal address. Takes precedence over `address` when both are sent.
    - `address` string: Alias of `formattedAddress`, matching the option endpoints.
    - `coordinates` CreateEventLocationCoordinatesV1Dto
      - `lat` number, required: Latitude.
      - `lng` number, required: Longitude.
    - `latitude` number: Alias of `coordinates.lat`, matching the option endpoints. Must be sent with `longitude`.
    - `longitude` number: Alias of `coordinates.lng`, matching the option endpoints. Must be sent with `latitude`.
  - `notes` string: Free-form commentary: provenance, caveats, trade-offs. Anything without a dedicated field goes here, not in name.
  - `userUploadedImageUrl` string: Photo of the place, shown on the map popup. Must be a directly-linkable image URL that allows hotlinking — Wikimedia Commons works, most search-result URLs do not.

## Response `201`
