# Add a new destination to a variant.

`POST /v1/trips/{id}/variants/{variantId}/destinations`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.mynextadventure.cloud` (the document declares no server; this is the origin it was published from)
- URL: `https://api.mynextadventure.cloud/v1/trips/{id}/variants/{variantId}/destinations`
- Auth: API key in header `X-API-Key`

## Path parameters

- `id` string, required
- `variantId` string, required

## Request body

- CreateDestinationV1Dto
  - `destination` string, required: Place name for this destination (e.g. "Lisbon, Portugal").
  - `isReturnToHome` boolean: Marks this destination as the return-to-home leg. Server keeps it pinned to the end.
  - `startDate` string, date-time: Arrival date at this destination.
  - `endDate` string, date-time: Departure date from this destination.
  - `notes` string: Free-form destination notes.

## Response `201`

- CreateDestinationResultV1Dto
  - `destinationKey` string, required: Server-assigned key for the newly-created destination.

## Other responses

- `404`: Trip or variant not found, or no edit access.
