# Create Resend-to-Unopened Draft

`POST /emails/broadcasts/{id}/resend_unopened`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://myworkspace.myclickfunnels.com/api/v2`
- URL: `https://myworkspace.myclickfunnels.com/api/v2/emails/broadcasts/{id}/resend_unopened`
- Auth: one of:
  - HTTP bearer
  - OAuth 2
    - Authorization code: `https://accounts.myclickfunnels.com/oauth/authorize`
    - Token URL: `https://accounts.myclickfunnels.com/oauth/token`
- TypeScript: <https://skmtc.dev/myclickfunnels/apis/clickfunnels-api/docs/emails/broadcasts/:id/resend_unopened/post.ts> (a function with typed inputs; its response is checked against the schema)

Create an independent editable draft from a broadcast that has been complete for at least 24 hours, including the exact 24-hour boundary. Copies published content, sender and reply-to settings, topics, and A/B variants and settings; clears the old schedule and results. The audience is contacts recorded as sent the source without a recorded open, subject to current subscription and suppression rules. It is evaluated when the separate send flow prepares recipients; a later open does not remove a queued recipient. This request never sends or schedules the draft. Review or edit the returned broadcast, then create its send action separately. Takes no body or content overrides. Each successful call creates another draft, so retrying is not idempotent. Requires email write access, source read access, permission to create broadcasts, and a workspace grant covering the source workspace.

## Path parameters

- `id` string, required

## Response `201`

New editable draft; no send action was created.

- EmailsBroadcastAttributes: Email Broadcasts
  - `id` integer: Broadcast ID
  - `public_id` string, nullable: Broadcast public ID
  - `workspace_id` integer: Workspace ID
  - `name` string, nullable: Internal name for the broadcast
  - `subject` string, nullable: Email subject line seen by recipients
  - `preheadline` string, nullable: Preview text shown in email clients before opening (max 150 characters)
  - `status` 'draft' | 'scheduled' | 'sending' | 'paused' | 'unhealthy' | 'complete' | 'canceled': Current broadcast status. New broadcasts start as draft.
  - `origination_channel_type` string, nullable: The type of origination channel that created this broadcast
  - `origination_channel_id` integer, nullable: The ID of the origination channel
  - `external_id` string, nullable: An optional external identifier for tracking purposes
  - `filter_id` integer, nullable: The contact filter determining which contacts receive this broadcast. Numeric `Refine::StoredFilter` id (not the public id) — the broadcast's own unnamed copy of the filter, created automatically from the `filter_id` (or `recipients`) supplied on create/update. `null` until an audience is set. See [Applying filters to email broadcasts](https://accounts.myclickfunnels.com/.well-known/refine-filters/skill.md#applying-filters-to-email-broadcasts).
  - `send_at` string, nullable: Scheduled send date
  - `send_at_local_time` string, nullable: Scheduled send time in HH:MM:SS format, relative to the specified time zone
  - `time_zone` string, nullable: Time zone for scheduled sending
  - `send_immediately` boolean: Whether the broadcast sends immediately upon creation
  - `smart_sending` boolean: Whether Smart Sending is on. When on, the broadcast is delivered gradually across a window instead of all at once, which protects deliverability. Defaults to `true`, so a broadcast batches unless you explicitly send `smart_sending: false`. Above 5,000 recipients Smart Sending is mandatory: the API may coerce `false` to `true`, and the send batches at that size regardless of the stored value.
  - `smart_sending_time` number, nullable: How many `smart_sending_unit`s the delivery window spans. `null` means no override is stored and the window is sized from the audience instead.
  - `smart_sending_unit` 'hour' | 'day' | 'null', nullable: The unit of the Smart Sending delivery window. `null` means no override is stored and the window is sized from the audience instead.
  - `sending_at` string, date-time, nullable: Timestamp when sending actually began
  - `complete_at` string, date-time, nullable: Timestamp when sending completed
  - `from_email` string, nullable: The sender email address
  - `from_name` string, nullable: The sender display name associated with the from address
  - `reply_to_email` string, nullable: The reply-to email address
  - `template` object, nullable: A lean reference to the email template this broadcast uses (a broadcast points at a template; it does not copy it, unlike a workflow send-email step). Null when no template is attached. The template's rendered body is not inlined here — fetch it from the templates endpoint via this public_id: GET /api/v2/emails/templates/{public_id}?expand[]=html_body.
    - `id` integer: Template ID
    - `public_id` string: Template public ID
    - `name` string, nullable: Template name
  - `topic_ids` integer[]: IDs of topics associated with this broadcast
  - `split_test` boolean: Whether this broadcast is a subject-line split test. When true, a `split_test_percentage` share of the audience is split evenly across the `variants`; after `split_test_wait_time` hours the variant with the most opens wins and the rest of the audience receives it.
  - `split_test_percentage` integer, nullable: Share of the audience (0-100) used for the test sends. This can remain populated while a configured test is disabled, and is `null` when no percentage has been configured.
  - `split_test_wait_time` integer, nullable: Hours to wait after the test sends before the winner is picked. This can remain populated while a configured test is disabled, and is `null` when no wait time has been configured.
  - `variants` object[]: The subject-line variants, oldest first. The main variant mirrors the broadcast's own subject and preheadline. A disabled test can retain an inactive alternate for later editing. A broadcast created before subject-line split tests existed and already sent has none, so the array can be empty; its subject line is then only on the broadcast's own `subject` and `preheadline`.
    - `subject` string, nullable: Subject line sent to this variant's share of the audience
    - `preheadline` string, nullable: Preview text sent to this variant's share of the audience
    - `send_percentage` number, nullable: Share of the audience (0-100) this variant is sent to during the test. Only meaningful when `split_test` is true. Until a `split_test_percentage` is set, the whole audience is split evenly across the variants, as the dashboard reports it.
    - `main` boolean: Whether this is the main variant, the one that mirrors the broadcast's subject and preheadline. It wins ties.
    - `open_count` integer: Opens counted for this variant while the test was running. Frozen when the winner is picked, so it is not the broadcast's overall open count.
    - `winner` boolean, nullable: `null` while the test is still running, and for a broadcast that is not a split test. Once the test closes, `true` for the variant with the most opens (the main variant on a tie) and `false` for the others.
  - `created_at` string, date-time, nullable: Created at datetime
  - `updated_at` string, date-time, nullable: Updated at datetime

## Other responses

- `401`: Missing or invalid authentication.
- `403`: The token lacks write access to Emails, or is limited to specific workspaces and was not granted the source broadcast's workspace.
- `404`: Source broadcast missing, deleted, or outside the caller's access.
- `422`: Source is ineligible or the draft failed validation; no partial draft records are retained.
