# Read a knowledge document

`GET /api/v1/topics/{ref}/documents/{id}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://myagentda.com`
- URL: `https://myagentda.com/api/v1/topics/{ref}/documents/{id}`
- Auth: API key in header `Authorization`

Returns the full markdown content, optionally an older version.

## Path parameters

- `ref` string, required
- `id` string, required

## Query parameters

- `version` integer

## Response `200`

The document.

- object: Document with content.
  - `document` DocumentContent: Document with full markdown content.
    - `id` string: Document ID.
    - `topic` string: Topic number, e.g. T-3.
    - `title` string: Title of the returned version.
    - `content_md` string: Full markdown content.
    - `source` string, nullable: Source.
    - `version` integer: Returned version.
    - `current_version` integer: Latest version.
    - `updated_at` string: Last update (ISO 8601).

## Other responses

- `401`: The access token is missing or invalid.
- `404`: Not found — or not visible to the caller (no existence leak).
