# Delete a directive

`DELETE /robots/v0/directives/{DIRECTIVE_ID}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.mux.com`
- URL: `https://api.mux.com/robots/v0/directives/{DIRECTIVE_ID}`
- Auth: one of:
  - HTTP basic
  - HTTP bearer

> **Deprecated.**

Deprecated: use `DELETE /robots/v1/directives/{directive_id}` instead. Deletes a directive. After this call, subsequent GET and LIST requests will no longer return it and new directive runs cannot be triggered for it. In-flight runs that have already read the directive config continue to completion.

## Path parameters

- `DIRECTIVE_ID` string, required: Directive ID returned by directive creation or listing (drv_...).

## Response `204`

Directive deleted

## Other responses

- `401`: Missing or invalid Mux credentials
- `403`: Robots is not enabled for this environment. Accept the Robots beta terms in the Mux Dashboard to enable access.
- `404`: Directive not found or already deleted
- `422`: Invalid request parameters
- `500`: Server error
