# Retrieve a chat completion

`GET /chat/completions/{completion_id}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.munito.ai/inference/v1`
- URL: `https://api.munito.ai/inference/v1/chat/completions/{completion_id}`
- Auth: one of:
  - HTTP bearer
  - API key in header `x-api-key`

Returns a completion that was created with `store: true` or with `Prefer: respond-async`. A background completion answers 202 until it finishes. Pass ?stream=true to attach to its live stream, and send Last-Event-ID to resume after that event.

## Path parameters

- `completion_id` string, required

## Query parameters

- `stream` boolean

## Response `200`

The chat completion object.

## Other responses

- `202`: The completion is still running. Poll again.
- `404`: No completion with this id is stored in your workspace.
