# Estimate Model Cost

`POST /api/v1/models/{name}/estimate-cost`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.muapi.ai`
- URL: `https://api.muapi.ai/api/v1/models/{name}/estimate-cost`
- Auth: one of:
  - API key in header `x-api-key`
  - OAuth 2 (client credentials, token URL `https://api.muapi.ai/oauth/token`)

Quote the exact USD cost for a given model + request payload.

Body is the same JSON you would `POST` to `/api/v1/{name}`. For models
with dynamic pricing (video duration, resolution, audio length, etc.)
this runs the same cost function the billing system uses, so the quote
matches what you'll actually be charged.

For fixed-price models the base `cost` is returned.

Use this to surface a price preview to your end users before triggering
the generation.
