# Create social connection

`POST /social/connections`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.mosaic.so`
- URL: `https://api.mosaic.so/social/connections`
- Auth: one of:
  - HTTP bearer
  - API key in header `X-API-Key`

Create a short-lived social account setup URL for a new connection.

## Request body

- SocialConnectionCreateRequest
  - `platform` 'x' | 'linkedin' | 'instagram' | 'facebook' | 'tiktok' | 'youtube', required
  - `connection_name` string: Name displayed on the hosted connection page for a new profile. Leading and trailing whitespace is trimmed. Duplicate names are allowed; use social_profile_id to identify distinct profiles. Omit to use a generated name. Does not rename an existing profile or social account.
  - `social_profile_id` string, uuid: Reuse an existing social profile without creating another profile slot. connection_name does not rename the existing profile.
  - `redirect_url` string, uri

## Response `200`

Connect URL created

- SocialConnectUrlResponse
  - `platform` 'x' | 'linkedin' | 'instagram' | 'facebook' | 'tiktok' | 'youtube', required
  - `social_profile_id` string, uuid: ID of the new or reused social profile. Distinct profiles may share the same connection_name.
  - `connect_url` string, uri, required: Short-lived Mosaic URL that opens the social account setup flow.

## Other responses

- `400`: Invalid request
- `401`: Authentication failed
- `403`: Access denied
- `404`: Resource not found
