# Update a shared store entry

`PATCH /shared-stores/{store_id}/entries/{entry_id}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.mosaic.so`
- URL: `https://api.mosaic.so/shared-stores/{store_id}/entries/{entry_id}`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Rename an entry and optionally replace its metadata.

## Request body

- object
  - `entry_id` string, required: New store-scoped entry ID.
  - `display_name` string, required
  - `metadata` object, nullable: Omit to preserve the current object; null replaces it with an empty object.

## Response `200`

Entry updated

- object
  - `entry` SharedStoreEntry, required
    - `entry_id` string, required: Caller-defined ID, unique within the store.
    - `display_name` string, required: Human-readable entry label.
    - `metadata` object, required: Non-null JSON object containing caller-defined values.
    - `created_at` string, date-time, required: UTC creation timestamp; preserved when an entry is replaced.

## Other responses

- `400`: Entry fields or metadata are invalid
- `401`: Shared Store authentication failed
- `403`: The organization does not have API access
- `404`: Store or entry not found
- `409`: Entry ID is already in use
- `413`: UTF-8 encoded metadata exceeds 256,000 bytes
- `500`: Entry could not be updated
