# Check Member Role

`GET /v1/members/{user_id}/roles/{role_id}/`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.monni.fyi` (the document declares no server; this is the origin it was published from)
- URL: `https://api.monni.fyi/v1/members/{user_id}/roles/{role_id}/`
- Auth: API key in header `X-API-Key`

Check whether a member holds one specific role.

Answers `has_role` for the role you asked about. The role does not have to exist in the
server: one that was deleted, or that belongs elsewhere, simply reports false.

A user who is not in the server answers 404.

Requires an API key with the `discord.view_members` permission.

## Other responses

- `422`: Validation Error
- `429`: Out of requests. `X-RateLimit-Bucket` says which limit you hit and `Retry-After` how many seconds to wait. This request was not counted against you.
