# Delete an entity's bank account

`DELETE /bank_accounts/{bank_account_id}`

## Request

- Auth: HTTP bearer

Delete information about an entity's bank account with the specified ID.

[Default bank accounts](https://docs.monite.com/entities/bank-accounts#default) cannot be deleted. To delete a default bank account, you must first assign a new default account for the same currency.

- `404`: An entity bank account with the specified ID was not found.
- `409`: Business logic error
- `422`: Validation Error
- `429`: API rate limit has been exceeded. Check the response headers for the rate limit information.
