# Get Usage

`POST /get_usage`

## Request

The Get Usage API retrieves a detailed breakdown of your MoltSets API credit usage for a chosen time period: today, the past week, the past month, or the current billing cycle.

It returns a day-by-day log of API calls made, credits consumed, successful lookups, empty results, and failed requests, along with period totals.

**Use this endpoint to:**
- Track consumption trends over time
- Audit usage day by day
- Build internal usage dashboards

## Request body

- object
  - `period` 'today' | 'week' | 'month' | 'billing_cycle': Time window to report on. Defaults to `today`.

## Response `200`

Success

## Other responses

- `401`: Unauthorized
- `403`: Forbidden — missing `User-Agent` header
- `422`: Invalid Input — malformed body, or a parameter is missing, malformed, or outside its allowed values
- `429`: Too Many Requests — burst guard (`rate_limited`). Account tools don't count toward the enrichment or search Fair Use limits.
- `500`: Internal Server Error — the call could not complete. Usually the endpoint is temporarily unavailable, but an oversized request can also cause it. Retry with a smaller request first; the MoltSets team is alerted automatically.
