# Creates Procedure Resource

`POST /fhir/v2/Procedure`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://stage.ema-api.com/ema-dev/firm/apiportal/ema`
- URL: `https://stage.ema-api.com/ema-dev/firm/apiportal/ema/fhir/v2/Procedure`
- Auth: HTTP bearer and API key in header `x-api-key`

Creates a Past Surgical History or Ocular Surgical History clipboard entry. Required: `subject` (Patient reference), `code` (1-2 SNOMED CT codings), `status` (must be `completed` — this is the only accepted value), and `identifier` with `value` of `PSX` (Past Surgical History) or `OSX` (Ocular Surgical History) — **omitting the identifier, or sending any other value, fails the request outright** rather than falling back to a default section (unlike Condition create). `category` is always set by the server to `DIAGNOSIS`/"Diagnosis" regardless of what's sent. There is no Update operation for Procedure.

- `401`: NOT AUTHORIZED - Authentication error; this token is not allowed access to the API

- `422`: UNPROCESSABLE ENTITY - Request could not be processed; typically a validation error
- `429`: TOO MANY REQUESTS - Request was rate limited (1000 calls/min default); please retry
- `500`: SERVER ERROR - Internal Server Error
