# Web Search

`POST /web/search`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.moda.app/v1`
- URL: `https://api.moda.app/v1/web/search`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Search the web (metered). Returns ranked results with query-relevant snippets.

## Headers

- `Moda-Version` '2026-04-12' | '2026-05-01'

## Request body

- WebSearchRequest
  - `query` string, required: The search query.
  - `num_results` integer: Results to return (max 10).
  - `include_text` boolean: Also return each result's leading document text (~2000 chars) as `text`.
  - `idempotency_key` string, nullable: A retried call with the same key replays the stored response (replayed:true) instead of paying for a second provider request.

- `401`: Authentication required.
- `402`: Insufficient credits for a metered operation.
- `403`: Permission denied for this scope.
- `404`: Resource not found.
- `409`: Conflict (idempotency / resource state).
- `422`: Request validation failed.
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded.
- `500`: Internal error.
