# Get trace world state

`GET /api/v1/data/conversations/{conversationId}/world-state`

## Request

Returns a trace's current world state: its tasks (every status; a subtask names its parent) and its facts, from the task engine for a trace it owns and otherwise from the task tracker, whose task records state facts only where the workspace's records take them, plus the end user's durable cross-trace profile. There is no history of state changes. A trace with no tasks or facts returns 200 with hasData false and empty segments.

## Response `200`

Successful response.

- object: Trace world state: hasData, userId, userDurableProfile, conversationWarmstart, segments (or segmentSummaries), source ("task_engine" for a trace the engine owns), and summary (segmentCount, lastUpdatedAt).

## Other responses

- `401`: The x-api-key header is missing, invalid, or revoked.
- `404`: The requested resource was not found.
